The beaches of Punta del Diablo: a haven for fishermen, nature lovers and surfers.
The playa de los Pescadores (fishermen's beach) is located near the center. This is where the artisanal fishing boats leave in the morning. The fishermen return just before sunset to hoist their boats onto the beach and unload and clean their catch of the day. This is the best time to come and buy seafood, sardines, catfish, dogfish and other delicious catches of the day at very good prices. Don't hesitate to ask them for their recipes!
Playa de la Viuda is the wildest of the three beaches of Punta del Diablo. This beach of thicker sand, 4 km long, ends at the lighthouse (which gave its name to the beach). More frequented by young people, especially in summer, with makeshift bars scattered along the coast. Good waves, but be careful because the current is strong!
Playa de los Botes (or Pescadores) is the most traditional beach of Punta del Diablo. A family beach, it is protected by rocks and is located next to a pier.
Playa del Rivero starts after Playa de los Botes and ends at the rocky point of Rivero, which is the border with Parque Nacional Santa Teresa (note the beauty of the first beach of the park, one of the most beautiful in the country). It is in fact an enclosed bay where the waves are a delight for surfers. Go there to admire the magnificent sunsets.
