This small house from the colonial period was built around 1800 by the Ortuño family. It was the witness of confrontations during Artigas' time. In fact, it was here in 1811 that his first revolutionary operations took place. It contains works by Figari, Cúneo, Barradas, Torres García, Barradas, Solari. Historical and prehistoric exhibitions, educational and cultural promotion activities, workshops, conferences, art courses and library. One of the great museums of Uruguayan painting in the interior of the country.
