Located in front of Benito Herosa Square, the small chapel built in 1774 was the origin of the foundation of the city of Rosario. It was the architect Elzeario Boix who designed the new church, whose work began in 1900 and was completed in 1922. The interior contains one of the Treinta y Tres Orientales, Gregorio Sanabria, who lost his life in 1825. In 2022, funds were raised by the Catholic community of the region to restore parts of the building.
