During the 19th century, this building was known as the "Hotel Olivera", although it was never used as a lodging establishment. Instead, it was used as lodging for people who came to bathe in the medicinal waters of the Negro River. The building, which has recently undergone renovation, now houses a tourist information center, a café, an exhibition space and the Naval Prefecture.
