PLAYA UBICI
On the road from Puente to Puerto, 2 km from Fray Bentos, is Playa Ubici, on the coast of the Uruguay River. From there, you can easily see the General San Martin International Bridge and the sulphurous UPM paper mill, which inflamed diplomatic relations between Argentina and Uruguay between 2007 and 2010. Two steps away, on the height of the viewpoint, is a statue of the Virgin of lemanjá (an African goddess of the sea, much celebrated in Brazil). On February 2, believers flock there to make offerings. Camping for tents, caravans, and bungalows.
