PLAZA CONSTITUCIÓN
The central square of Fray Bentos was erected in 1873 and renovated in 1983. The central kiosk made of wrought iron and wood was donated to the city in 1902 by the Liebig Company. It is surrounded by lawns and flowers, and is said to be a reproduction of the one in the Crystal Palace in London, where Queen Victoria used to listen to music concerts. Today it is considered one of the most emblematic symbols of the city. On the other side of the plaza are the Intendencia Municipal del Río Negro, the Solari Museum and the Church of Nuestra Señora del Pilar.
