Declared a national historic monument, this neoclassical building from the early 19th century is topped by two domes covered with azulejos. It is the oldest Christian church in the region. Its bells, made in 1686 by the Jesuit missions, were brought by General Rivera in the 1830s. In addition, the Virgen Misionera de Río Negro, the missionary virgin that was part of the devotion of the first inhabitants of Salto Oriental, is found here.
