Every year, in mid-March, one of the most popular celebrations in the country is held in Tacuarembó in honor of the traditions of the gauchos. The festivities include folkloric music concerts, agility trials, rodeos, local art exhibits and parades of gauchos on horseback. This celebration is an opportunity to taste local products, including grilled beef, empanadas, local wines and typical desserts.
