MUSEO DE ARTES VISUALES
Located in front of Plaza 19 de Abril, the Museo de Artes Visuales de la Cuidad de Tacuarembó (MUART) was inaugurated in 2009, and showcases the cultural heritage and national art through a collection of works by more than a hundred Uruguayan painters, sculptors, printmakers and photographers. Among the artists exhibited are Héctor Sgarbi, Carmelo de Arzadum and Gustavo Alamón, whose painting shows the World Trade Center before 2001. The exhibitions are renewed every month to offer a different experience to visitors.
