Don Tito Pereira was the last artisanal gold prospector in the region. In 1988 he discovered the largest nugget of pure gold that Uruguay has ever known, weighing no less than 31 grams. If you have the opportunity to meet the owner, who is none other than Don Tito's son, then he will not fail to tell you the most interesting stories and anecdotes about his father and his fellow miners. A real gold mine, in every sense of the word.
