For a long time, life in this village was centered around the train station, until the arrival of the French painter Michèle Dubaux, known as Leo Arti, who decided to move there in 2008. With her murals depicting different aspects of Uruguayan life (tango dancers, gauchos sharing mate, a portrait of Carlos Gardel, etc.), she added a lot of color to the city. Since then, dozens of residents have asked her to decorate their homes.
