Annual celebration that takes place in October in the department of Lavalleja. The event commemorates the liberation of the region and pays tribute to its national hero, Juan Antonio Lavalleja, a military and political leader who played a crucial role in Uruguay's independence. The festivities include parades, historical reenactments, dance and folk music performances, as well as educational and cultural activities for the whole family. Its highlight is the traditional Noche de los Fogones on Cerro Artigas.
