The Campechada brings together artists, artisans and food producers for a great celebration of Puerto Rican culture.
The Campechada is a great cultural event that usually takes place in the streets of Old San Juan, in May or November. Artists from all walks of life, artisans, comedians, puppeteers, dancers, musicians, poets, designers... not to mention the local gastronomy players, gather for the largest fair dedicated to arts and culture in Puerto Rico. The first edition of La Campechada, in 2011, was organized to celebrate the life and work of José Campeche, the first known Puerto Rican painter (1752-1809).
