This chapel, built between 1753 and 1780, is surrounded by legends. The most famous one concerns its creation. A knight went down Cristo Street during a popular race and, unable to hold his horse at the edge of the cliff, fell directly into the sea. Legend has it that he survived and that to thank God for this miracle, a chapel was built. Many historians contest this version, assuring that the man died on the spot. But that doesn't matter to the thousands of pilgrims who have come since then to pray to God to cure their health problems.
