First museum in Puerto Rico, created in 1951. The building was designed by the German architect Henry Klumb. Its collection of Caribbean archaeology is one of the richest in the Caribbean region. The museum has fine collections of pre-Columbian art belonging to the University of Puerto Rico. Monthly exhibitions and art workshops, lectures, and concerts are held there. The museum is right next to the university's library.
