LA PRINCESA
South of Old San Juan is the old prison of the city built in 1837. It runs along the Paseo de la Princesa, which promises a beautiful walk to all those who will walk there. This very pleasant esplanade, shaded by many trees, dates back to the th century and leads straight to San Juan Bay. Do not hesitate to take this walk in the evening, Friday or Saturday. All Puerto Rico falls there from orange juice stand to a food kiosk. To return to the penitentiary centre, the rather majestic building today houses the Puerto Rico Tourist Company, and above all a gallery of art that can visit in the week and offer regular exhibitions of Puerto Rican painters. If you cross the building, exit in a yard on the right you will follow a very narrow passage that will take you to the three cells that have been preserved. Dismal wishes.
