Built in the eighteenth century, the building of La Casa del Libro houses an impressive collection of rare books, works from the fifteenth century, as well as historical documents. Two mandates signed by the Spanish royal couple in 1493 are among the most beautiful pieces in the collection. They approve the supply of the fleet of Christopher Columbus during his second voyage to America. The museum holds regular book workshops and a small store sells books, art and local crafts.
