MUSEO DE ARTE DE PONCE
The museum, inaugurated in 1965, renovated and expanded in 2010, and again in 2022, has one of the finest collections of contemporary art in the Caribbean. More than 4,500 works, paintings, photographs, sculptures, drawings, handicrafts... constitute the permanent collection. National artists are represented, including Francisco Oller, considered the only Latin American painter to have participated in the impressionist movement. Western art also has an important place in this museum, represented from the Renaissance to the 19th century.
