It is one of the oldest lighthouses on the island. Built in 1892, destroyed by an earthquake in 1918 and in 1921, rebuilt by the Coast Guard, then destroyed again in 1931, rebuilt... the lighthouse of Punta Higüera was finally restored in 1993, and transformed into a maritime museum, for more serene days. It guarantees a beautiful view of the ocean, especially of Desecheo Island. It is surrounded by a small park, ideal with children. It is at the level of this lighthouse that the road 4413 ends, so it is useless to go further.
