CARA DEL INDIO
It is a monument in homage to the cacique Mabodomaca, erected along the road, at the entrance of the small town of Isabela. This sculpture representing his face is not the only one to speak about this Taino Indian chief. People will advise you to go to El Pastillo beach, on the west side, and observe the cliff that would resemble the face of Mabodomaca. Legend has it that he jumped from there to escape the Spaniards. The main road, connecting Isabela to Quebradillas, was renamed "Avenida Cacique Mabodomaca" in his honor.
