Hill of 884 m high with a superb view on Dawson City, ideal to observe northern lights.
In the evening, drive to the Midnight Dome Viewpoint, 9 kilometres from Dawson City on the Dome Road. Its name refers to the midnight sun. For years, locals have been gathering at the top of this 884-metre-high hill in the summer to watch the sky and its changing colours. In winter, the place is popular for observing the Northern Lights. From this hill you will have a superb view of Dawson City and the large furrows of the Klondike River Valley mine tailings. Picnicking is also available.
