This festival has been held over a few days since 1952 to bring back the excitement of the gold rush to its summer visitors and to showcase the allure of finding those glittering gold nuggets! Participants are invited to wear Victorian and "wild west" era clothing, folkloric atmosphere guaranteed and even "folklo", especially during the plastic duck race on the Chena River. The program includes a French cancan show, traditional Alaskan cuisine and the famous parade, the highlight of the festival.
