SHELDON CHALET
Small hotel with five rooms to see the Northern Lights and a comfortable chalet.
Standing at 1,830 m above sea level on a rock in the middle of the Don Sheldon Amphitheater, a gigantic ice valley in the foothills of Mount Denali, this luxury hotel brings us back to the original meaning of the expression "feeling alone in the world". It is reached after an hour's helicopter ride from Talkeetna. The comfort of the chalet contrasts with the hostile and icy environment. The bay windows of the five rooms allow to see the Northern Lights dancing. The owner of the place, Robert Sheldon, is the son of a famous bush pilot, a pioneer of glacier landing.
