The Alaska Marine Highway Company, also known as AMHS for Alaska Marine Highway System, serves several Alaskan ports such as Wrangell, Petersburg, Haines, Juneau and Skagway and offers connections to Canada and Washington State in the United States. The ferry landing dock is located 2 kilometers from downtown Ketchikan on the way to the airport. 11 ships of various sizes accommodate a good number of passengers for varying lengths of crossing. Onboard amenities are very comfortable: restaurants, berths, etc.
