A forest 120 kilometers east of the city where a truck takes the road to bring a tree to each home for Christmas
The inhabitants of Nome do not deviate from the tradition of the Christmas tree. 120 kilometers east of the city, there is a forest sparse with taiga-like vegetation. Each year, in early December, a truckload of volunteers drives to bring a tree to every household in Nome. Once the holidays are over, the townspeople will "replant" the old tree on an icy expanse on the outskirts of town, humorously referred to as the "Nome National Forest." A more ecological way to recycle the trees than to burn them.
