This museum, renovated when it moved into the new Richard Foster building in 2016, is well worth a visit. The permanent exhibition, Nome: Hub of Cultures and Communities Across the Bering Strait, provides a contemporary, fresh and exciting look at the Inupiat communities of this region. Nearly 50 contributors tell the story of their culture through interviews, photographs, shared stories, and an immersive exhibition. Showcases display objects familiar to the Inupiat traditions and culture. Also, an exhibition of contemporary crafts.
