Over the course of a day, participants spritz themselves with brightly colored powders while dancing to the rhythm of sound systems.
The capital emerges from its long Albanian winter with this Greek techno festival from Athens, inspired by Holi, India's "festival of colors": for one day, participants sprinkle themselves with brightly colored powders while dancing to the rhythm of sound systems. Until now, Tirana's Colourday Festival has been held in Mother Teresa Square, near Blloku. But such is the popularity of the event that it is now held in the giant Skanderbeg square. If you happen to be in the area at the time, be sure to bring a change of clothes.
