APPARTEMENT DE KADARÉ
Museum in the large apartment where Ismail Kadaré lived from 1974 to 1992. Six rooms with some of the writer's personal effects.
Opening in 2019, this national museum (Muzeu Shtëpia Studio Kadare) is housed in the large apartment where Ismaïl Kadaré lived from 1974 to 1992. Born in 1936 in Gjirokastra, Albania's most famous writer wrote here Avril brisé (1980) and Le Dossier H. (1981). Six rooms are open to visitors, with many of the author's personal effects: French books and diplomas, manuscripts, etc. The apartment is on the third floor of a 1971 building designed by artist Maks Velo (1935-2020), which was reserved for the elite of the Communist regime.
