RINIA PARK
Downtown public park. Green spaces, fountain, shopping center and monument to the 100th anniversary of independence.
This small 3-hectare park (Parku Rinia) was created in 1950. Dedicated to "youth"(rinia), it is the only green space in the city center, along with the Grand Park on the left bank. It features a fountain, the Taiwan shopping center (casino, bowling alley, banks, boutiques, cafés and restaurants) and the Monument to the Hundredth Anniversary of Independence. Created in 2012 by two German architects of Albanian origin, the latter is adorned with the double-headed eagle and consists of two bronze-covered sections in the shape of a 6.40 m-high "open book".
