PAZARI I RI
Pedestrian district of the "new bazaar" dating from 1931. Two markets and plenty of restaurants and café terraces. Very pleasant.
The small district of the "New Bazaar" (Pazari i Ri) is one of Tirana's nicest spots. It's a pleasant pedestrian area with two markets, shops, restaurants and cafés. It was created in 1931, following the destruction of the Ottoman charchia (commercial and Islamic center) which stood on the site of Skanderbeg Square. The district underwent major renovation in 2016. There are two halls. The "green market" (Markata e Gjelber), simply covered by a roof, houses vendors selling fruit and vegetables, cheese, olives, dried fruit, local spirits (raki, wine) and olive wood utensils. The walled "meat and fish market" (Markata e Mish-Peshkut) is home not only to fishmongers and butchers, but also, since the district's renovation, to cafés and restaurants. Around Avni-Rustemi square, you can enjoy a coffee, an ice cream, grilled meats in the zgare (rotisseries) on the corner of Luigj-Gurakuqi street, or sit in the courtyard of the pleasant traditional restaurant Oda. To the north of Pazari i Ri, you'll find another small, less touristy but surprising district: Tregu i Biçikletave, the "bicycle market". Along Rue Qemal-Stafa, you'll find a number of bicycle sellers and repairers. You'll also find one of the last remaining popular restaurants serving offal-based dishes: Te Paca 2004, 80 m north of the Pazari i Ri "green market". Simple, good and inexpensive.

Faites un petit tour au marché et profitez d'une architecture originale qui vaut le coup d'œil. Y aller de préférence le matin.
Pleins de petits restaurants et bars sympas à tester ….
