GROTTE DE PËLLUMBAS
Situated at an altitude of 500 m, this cave can be reached by footpath from Pëllumbas, in the south of Mount Dajti National Park.
This karst cave (Shpella e Pëllumbasit), also known as the "black cave" (Shpella e Zezë), is one of the most beautiful in the country. Situated at an altitude of 500 m, it can be reached via a somewhat difficult path from the village of Pëllumbas. Its large entrance opens onto a 360 m-deep gallery. The cave was used as a shelter by bears some 400,000 years ago, and by man in the Paleolithic and during the Second World War. Nearby are the Erzen canyons (Kanionet e Erzenit), where you can swim in summer.
