LAC BOVILLA
A 4.6 man-made lake in the northern part of Mount Dajti National Park, offering magnificent scenery.
This 4.6 km2 artificial lake (Liqeni i Bovillës) is located in the northern part of Mount Dajti National Park, shared by the municipalities of Tirana and Kruja. It was created between 1988 and 1996 with an 81 m-high dam on the Tërkuza river, and today supplies 50% of the capital's water needs. The site boasts magnificent scenery with two peaks of the Skanderbeg massif, the Gamti (1,267 m) and Brarr (1,214 m) mountains. Near the dam there's a restaurant, the "Bovilla Balcony" hiking area and climbing routes.
