TOMBE DE PËRSQOPI
The most important Illyrian site in the Tirana region: the remains of a tomb dating from the century BC, at an altitude of 592 m.
This archaeological site (Varri Monumental në Përsqop) is home to the most important Illyrian remains in the Tirana region. Located on Mount Villa, at an altitude of 592 m, it includes a section of fortification and the ruins of a 20m2 tomb made of large stone blocks. Of Macedonian influence, the latter was vaulted, had two burial chambers and was covered with earth to form a tumulus. It was built at the beginning of the site's occupation, around the 4th century BC, and would have contained the ashes of several deceased.
