TEKKÉ DOLLMA
Famous Bektashi sanctuary and place of worship founded in 1780. Since its origins, it has remained the property of the Dollma family.
This tekké bektashi (Teqja e Dollmës) is one of the oldest in Albania. Forming a cube of 7.20 m on each side and surmounted by a dome mounted on an octagonal drum, it was founded by a rich notable of Tirana, Adem Aga Toptani, in 1780. This sanctuary and place of Sufi worship houses three tombs: the supposed tomb of the donor who died around 1785 and those of two dervishes of the Dollma family, a father and son, who died in the 19th century. Closed to worship by the communist authorities in 1967, but renovated by them in 1982, the tekké is still managed by the Dollma family.
