KUNE-VAIN-TALE NATURE RESERVE
This 23 protected area is home to some 17,000 birds of 196 species. Beautiful beach, restaurants... litter and mosquitoes.
This 23 km2 protected area (Rezervati Kunë-Vain-Tale) was created in 1940 as a hunting reserve for Count Ciano, Mussolini's son-in-law. Located south of Shëngjin Bay, just beyond the Drin estuary, it adjoins Patok Lagoon to the south. Some 17,000 birds of 196 species have been counted here (cormorants, herons, egrets, grebes, spoonbills, wigeons, goldeneyes, etc.). Beautiful beach, restaurants... but unfortunately also litter and mosquitoes.
