THETH-VALBONA TRAIL
A small café, little known to visitors, offering brand-new rooms and organizing walking and horse-riding excursions in Theth.
This 13.9-kilometer trail is one of the most beautiful in the Albanian Alps. It's also the most popular with hikers from all over the world in summer. Well described on the Peaks of the Balkans website, it takes around 7 hours to complete, but is not particularly difficult. Halfway up, you can stop off at the Simoni Kafe refuge-café, at an altitude of 1,450 metres. The highlight is the Valbona pass (Qafa e Valbonës), at 1,759 meters above sea level, with grandiose views over the two valleys and Mount Jezerca.
