This tower (Kulla e Kujtimit) is 23.5 metres high. It was erected in 2009 in memory of the thousands of Kosovo Albanian refugees who flocked to Kukës in the spring of 1999, at the end of the Kosovo war. It houses an interesting but not very objective exhibition on the 1998-1999 conflict. Beware, however, of the sometimes shocking photographs on display. Next door, an ethnographic museum offers three collections on the region: biodiversity, archaeology and ethnography, including traditional costumes and utensils.
