MUSÉE DES KASTRIOT
Private museum in the style of a miniature castle, 20 km from Peshkopi. Intends to prove that Skanderbeg was born here. There is some debate..
This small private museum with the appearance of a castle (Muzeu i Kastriotëve) is located in the hamlet of Sina/Sinë, the former stronghold of the Kastriot clan whose most illustrious member is the national hero George Kastriot Skanderbeg (1405-1468). Founded in 1985, it was completely looted during the 1997 civil war and reopened in 2018. It houses swords, busts of Skanderbeg, his father John (Gjon) and his grandfather Paul (Pal) as well as documents tending to prove that Skanderbeg was born here and not in Kruja (near Tirana). This thesis is still under debate.
