LURA NATIONAL PARK
It extends over 202 km2a mountainous area. Beautiful glacial lakes, but forests ravaged by illegal logging.
Created in 1996, this 202 km2 national park( Parku Kombetar i Lurës) is little visited. It's famous for its glacial lakes, particularly the "Great Lake" (Liqeni i Madh), which covers 32 hectares at an altitude of 1,720 m. But it's quite difficult to get to. However, it is rather difficult to access (4 x 4 recommended) and has been ravaged by illegal logging. However, a reforestation program was launched in 2014. Very mountainous, the park is dominated by the "Crown of Lura" (Kurora e Lurës), which rises to 2,119 m above sea level. Excursion recommended with a guide or agency.
