MAISON-MUSÉE QAKO
In Gorica, this listed house retains its interior decor (frescoes). Guided tour by the owners.
Located in the Gorica district, this listed 18th-century house (Shtëpia e Nasi Qako) is one of the last three in Berat's historic center to have preserved its interior decor. The rooms are decorated with frescoes, the most recent of which were painted in 1869. The building is also distinguished by its architecture: it's a kullë, a fortified tower-house, very common in Gjirokastra, but unusual here. A warm welcome and guided tour by the Qako family, who still own the property. Art and craft workshops in summer.
