VANGJUSH-MIO MUSEUM
In the birthplace of impressionist painter Vangjush Mio. Some forty of his rather minor works are on display.
This national museum (Shtëpia Muze e Piktorit Vangjush Mio) is housed in the birthplace of impressionist painter Vangjush Mio (1891-1957). After studying in Bucharest, he returned to Korça in the 1920s. A teacher at the French Lycée, he counted a certain Enver Hoxha among his pupils. Renowned for his beautiful landscapes and portraits, the artist painted around 400 pictures, of which some forty minor works are preserved here, in this crumbling building with walls as unreliable as its opening hours.
