Very beautiful. This is actually a section of an old aqueduct built in 1812-1813. A 3 km walk from the old town.

This beautiful stone "bridge" (Ura e Ali Pashës) is in fact a section of the ancient aqueduct built by order of the famous Greek-Albanian governor Ali Pacha de Tepelena in 1812-1813. Spanning the steep Manala valley, it is 16 m high, 40 m long and 2.3 m wide. It's a 30-minute walk (6 km round trip) from the old town. Partly destroyed in 1932, the 10 km aqueduct supplied water to the citadel of Gjirokastra from the pretty pyramid-shaped Mount Sopoti (1,572 m above sea level).
