MUSÉE DE L'ARMEMENT
In the citadel's underground passages. Mainly devoted to partisan fighting during the Second World War.
This national museum founded in 1971 (Muzeu i Armëve) is located in the underground of the citadel, in the former prison closed in 1968. It relates, according to a museography inherited from the communist period, the fight of the partisans against the Nazis during the Second World War. There are statues of partisans, weapons, a Nazi flag, paintings, uniforms, etc. Next door, another small museum presents the history of the city since antiquity. It does not contain many interesting objects, but it does have signs in English.
