Since 1905, the Kiev funicular has been transporting passengers from the Podil district on the Dnieper River, next to the Poshtova ploshcha metro station, to Mykhailivska Square, further up. This is an opportunity not only to use a historical means of transport, but also to enjoy a beautiful view of the Dnieper and the magnificent wooded landscape on its left bank. A small historical detail: the funiculars of Kiev and Odessa were the only ones existing in the Russian Empire.
