Until 1931, this museum was called the Kyiv Gallery. During the intense russification campaign of 1936, he changed his name and became the museum of Russian art, although the works exhibited were those of Ukrainian artists. Set in the building of the famous Ukrainian patron of the th century, Terechtchenko, the museum displays paintings, sculptures, graphic works, art objects applied from the time of Russia to the present day. There are paintings by Repine, Shishkin, M and Aivazovsky, famous Russian painters.
