More than 20 000 works of art are gathered in this sumptuous museum. It is also the only place in the world where icons of the Byzantine era are exposed. In another style, we find avant-garde painters from the 1920 s: Arkhipenko, Severinovich, Ekster, who made a notable contribution to the development of world painting. In the museum are also exposed to Taras Shevchenko tables, best known in Europe for his poetic work.
