VORONTSOV HOUSE (ВОРОНЦОВА ВОРОНЦОВА)
This great residence was the pied-à-terre of General Vorontsov, governor of Novorrossiysk and thus of Crimea. When he went to the region, in his secondary residence in Aloupka, he was offered a stop. He bought the house to Prince D. Naryshkin, who was built in 1826 by architect F. Elson. The building now belongs to the Crimean Academy of Sciences. Beyond the historical value, the interior beautifully decorated by large frescoes, as well as the singularity of the architecture, complemented a walk in the city for those who do not rush through the beaches of the southern peninsula. The residence is located in the Salgirka Park, the oldest park in the city, which is also an extremely rich botanical garden.
