According to the legend, the place of construction was chosen because under the building, the Temple of the Virgin in which Prince Vladimir was baptized. The cathedral was built to commemorate the 900 years of the prince's baptism, between 1861 and 1892. But 34 years later the temple had to close. The building was heavily destroyed during the wars raging in the region. In 1992, the faithful came to the temple half destroyed to pray and prevent his total destruction. The renovation began in 1992 and later 10 years later. We have an excellent cultural and original outing to make. This is a spectacle of the theatre troupe of Sébastpol, in the Roman amphitheatre of the city of Chersonèse. From mid-June to late August shows are regularly represented, almost every two days.
