This fortress, whose name means "new fortress", was built by the Ottomans at the end of the th century. From now on, the Turks monitored the passage between the Black Sea and the sea of Azov. After annexation of the Crimea to the Russian Empire, the fortress was used as a military hospital until 1880. Then, she remained in a state of abandonment until the second half of the twentieth century. To go, take bus # 32 from Kerch bus station.
