This beautiful church is among the oldest Orthodox churches in Crimea. It offers an interesting blend of classic Byzantine and Russian styles. It was built in the th and th centuries, as evidenced by a Greek inscription on one of the columns. During the Crimean khanate, it was converted into a mosque, and in 1774, when Kerch joined the Russian Empire, it became an Orthodox church. Too small, the western part of the church was expanded in the th century.
